Midnight Sun to Red Sea in June 2002 was two events in one

The Rally was an FIA Long Distance special stage rally with two categories: for pre-1971 Classics and for Modern Group N saloon cars under 2-litres, no 4wd and no turbochargers.

The Challenge was a Regularity event which also had two categories: for modern 4X4 recreational vehicles and for Classics from 1950 - 1975.
